Her fresh and exciting approach supports guides and challenges the reader. Using case studies and personal anecdotes she demonstrates the success of practical tools in action. Her insights shine a light onto deeper issues about oneself and onto the vital parent–child relationship that is developing. This is a gripping read that is both liberating and inspiring. I would recommend it highly to all parents, even to those with younger children.” Clare Hanbury-Leu, director of Young Solutions International and mother of two
“Help my 6yr old is going to become an alien … or she was until I read this book. I don’t know what made me read a book on Teens and Aliens but once done, could not put it down. You know that feeling you get when someone literally puts the solution on a plate for you, all you’ve got to do is pick it up and do something with it. Well, that is what Sarah does in this book, offers solutions and with your commitment, ensures they work. I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. You think this is for Teenagers only. I tried the state and choice section with my 6yr old and have not looked back.” Dan – father of 2

"Sarah is a fantastic coach and she really understands teenagers; something so many of us may struggle with at times. Reading her book is a bit like having access to her amazing coaching skills 24/7, but its no pie in the sky read but a practical guide that gets results."
“I bought this book never hearing of Sarah Newton and am so glad I did. I found this book not a moment too soon; as my daughter is 13 and I admit defeat in understanding her. Like all parents, we want the best, right? Well, honestly, this book has given me so much hope and confidence to do the right thing in 'coaching' my daughter through the teen years. I can't wait to put into practice all the practical tips given by the author. I wish I had read this book for my older children (too late now) but hopefully this will help me tame the alien I have now! There are loads of case studies, once you read some of them, you realise you don't have it too bad! There is even a chapter on step-children which is the reason I bought this book. It has given my partner and I new hope and a positive way forward in dealing with my daughter’s unacceptance of our situation. You won't regret buying this book, best money I've spent on a book in years."
"I am not a parent, in fact I am just out of the teenager years myself...being only 22. However, I am a teacher of teenagers, and bought the book 'Help My Teenage is an Alien, in the hope it would give me some methods I could use in the classroom. I would just like to say, yes it did! Teaching over 240 girls, aged between 13 and 18, I have to face quite a few stroppy, and disaffected teenagers every day. Your book has given me some new behaviour management techniques and mentoring techniques to try out. So far the 'half-fat and full fat friend exercise has helped me mentor girls falling in out of friendships... and the 'give respect to gain respect is beginning to prove particularly effective with girls who can prove confrontational."
Thanks again
Sophie Thompson, a less stressed teacher.
" This book spoke to me, gave me tools to communicate more effectively with my son who is 17. I wish I had read it earlier as it would have supported me to be more the sort of parent I would have wanted to have been. It enabled me to understand teenagers more and realise that actually underneath all the grunts is a loving son who is just unable to control his emotions. If I had read it earlier I could have supported my son in a more empathetic and constructed way through the early years of his teenage life. He is now definitely smiling more and offering to make me cups of tea - he really does know the way to my heart! A relieved and very loving mother."
"What I loved about this book is that it helps you see things from your teenager's point of view. Sarah Newton's advice isn't about indulging your kids - far from it - but rather she shows how important it is to treat them with respect. From the title I was expecting something a bit 'jokey' and was rather relieved to find it wasn't like that at all. It's down to earth and practical and comes from someone who really knows what she's talking about. " Celia Dodd
"There is no such thing as the perfect family. It doesn't exist despite what you might read in magazines and newspapers. Thank goodness for Sarah. Her book is full of brilliant tips and strategies that you can keep beside your bed when you need it in an emergency (and believe we have had a few teen emergencies in our house and so have most of our friends by the way). Or you can read the inspiring stories about how families have dealt with life and come out the other end and there is life at the other end of teens and be prepared and ready when you house turns upside down.
No matter how good a parent you think you have been nothing can prepare you for being a parent to teens, so prepare yourself in advance and enjoy the very readable no jargon, Help my teenager is an alien." Carolyn Matheson Master Certified Coach
"It is soooooooooo hard to break bad habits and bad habits in relationships are the hardest. This book will take you on a roller coaster ride, alongside the stories of others' experiences it helps to identify bad habits. Then come the dollops of practical tips and tools to create the highs and banish the lows. While you're on this ride you won’t be screaming but you will be laughing out loud. Whatever the age of your child, this book adds zing to parenting. My children are not teenagers yet but this book is already next to my bed. If you only buy one book to help you be a happier parent - buy this."
"Sarah is a fantastic coach and she really understands teenagers; something so many of us may struggle with at times. Reading her book is a bit like having access to her amazing coaching skills 24/7, but its no pie in the sky read but a practical guide that gets results."
Thank you. I have found a way to resolve my anger and am very thankful for the help given by the services. It was more than support because you gave me a solution...no one has given me a solution to this problem before. Thanks Daniel
